United Bulgarian Bank with new members in the Board of Directors

New members have been elected in the Board of Directors of United Bulgarian Bank (UBB) at an extraordinary General Meeting of the Bank’s Shareholders, held on 6th April 2015. The newly elected Board of Directors’ members with a three-year mandate are Mr. Marinis Stratopoulos and Mr. Alexandros Benos. They have joined the Board of Directors to replace Messrs. Pavlos Mylonas and Panagiotis Karandreas. Mr. Georgi Nikolov has been re-appointed as Head of UBB’s Specialized Internal Audit Department.
- Mr. Marinis Stratopoulos – General Manager International Activities, National Bank of Greece
Mr. Marinis Stratopoulos joined NBG Group in Y2005 as a General Manager of NBG in Belgrade. Over the period 2007-2010 he held the position of a Chief Executive Officer and President of the Executive Board of Vojvodjanska Banka, after which he became Chief Executive Officer and BoD Chairman of Banca Romaneasca. Since Y2014 Mr. Stratopoulos has been General Manager International Activities at National Bank of Greece. Mr. Stratopoulos holds a Master degree in Finance from Lancaster University, Great Britain, as well as a Bachelor degree in Business Administration from the American College of Greece (DEREE).
- Mr. Alexandros Benos – Deputy General Manager of Group Risk Management Division at National Bank of Greece
Mr. Alexandros Benos joined NBG Group in Y2000 as a Senior Credit Risk Manager, and since Y2010 he has been holding the position of Director Group Risk Control and Architecture at National Bank of Greece. In Y2013 he headed Group Market and Operational Risk Department in his capacity as a Deputy General Manager of NBG Group Risk Management Division.
Mr. Benos holds a Ph.D. in Finance from Stanford University, USA, as well as a Master degree in Economics from Cambridge University, UK. He is a member of the American Financial Association (AFA), the American Institute of Financial Management (AIFM), Association Française de FinanceAFFI) etc. (
