UBB Warns of Rising Phone and Email Fraud Attempts
15 May 2026
Dear Clients,
We would like to alert you to a growing number of fraudulent phone calls and emails.
Please be cautious when receiving:
- Calls from unknown numbers, especially when callers or automated messages claim to be bank representatives and inform you of a supposed problem with your payments, accounts, cards, or online and mobile banking.
- Emails that resemble official communication from UBB and inform you of actions allegedly carried out on your cards or accounts, requesting urgent actions or confirmations on your part.
These calls and emails are scams designed to pressure you into acting quickly. Fraudsters often create a false sense of urgency, warn of potential loss of funds, or ask for immediate confirmation of your personal data and passwords in order to gain access to sensitive information.
Please note that UBB does not request usernames, passwords, verification codes, card details, or any other sensitive information over the phone or by email, nor will ask you to install a remote access tool.
If you have shared sensitive information, contact the UBB Contact Center immediately at 0700 117 17 or *7171.
