New regulation in line with the activity of investment intermediaries and the deals in financial instruments
27 November 2017
Dear clients,
We would like to inform you that effective from 03.01.2018 the European Union adopts a new regulation in line with the activity of investment intermediaries and the deals in financial instruments – Markets in Financial Instruments Directive 2014/ 65/ ЕС and Markets in Financial Instruments Regulation 600/2014 (MIFIR), also known as MiFID II.
In order to be able to conclude deals in financial instruments you should have a LEI code (Legal Entity Identifier) – a unique number of a legal entity that is being used for reporting and other purposes, pursuant to the European laws. We hereby draw your attention to the fact that after 03.01.2018 UBB will not be able to accept any order, respectively to conclude and execute any transaction in financial instruments by/with entities without a valid LEI.
LEI code is being issued by the so called “Local Operating Unit". More information on the LEI code, as well as information on the issuance of such, you may find in the global database webpage https://www.gleif.org/
In case you already have a valid LEI code, please inform us prior to deal conclusion. Information on the valid LEI codes is available at https://www.gleif.org/en/lei/search/ .
UBB could assist you in the issuance and maintenance of the LEI code in the name of the company you represent.
We remain at your disposal should you need additional information.
