To all current holders of VISA Electron credit cards

18 January 2017
In our strive to offer competitive products and services to our clients, we continue the process of upgrading our card portfolio and as of the beginning of January the Bank starts issuing VISA-branded contactless credit cards.
From 31.01.2017 onwards the Bank will be issuing credit cards with only contactless functionality. Thus all existing VISA Electron credit cards of individual holders, expiring after that date, will be reissued free of charge and replaced by contactless VISA Classic cards.
The terms under effective agreements and the accrued bonuses under the UWIN Programme will be retained, as clients will now be able to also enjoy contactless payments’ advantages – speed, ease and security anywhere around the globe.
Contactless payments of up to BGN 25 are enabled by simply approaching the card to a POS terminal with no need to enter a PIN code. The card and the payment device do not exchange any sensitive information which may identify the client and his/her card.
Contactless payment is also possible for sums larger than BGN 25, as those require the entering of a PIN code.
