Information about dissemination of fake emails on behalf of UBB
22 February 2023
We would like to inform you about dissemination of fake emails on behalf of UBB, concerning the need of updating client profiles’ data via a link.
We would like to once again draw your attention to the fact the UBB DOES NOT demand from you any actions whatsoever in line with the performed upgrade of the Bank’s system.
The Bank DOES NOT send messages, urging its clients to confirm and provide online sensitive data, such as: user name, login passwords and activation codes for online banking or card details (names, embossed on a card, card number, validity data and CVC code) or a telephone number.
Please, be vigilant and do not follow links in such messages!
All changes to your access rights should be made, apart from those requests submitted at a branch of the Bank, only and solely in UBB’s official website for online banking (ebb.ubb.bg), after having typed the address yourself in the browser field or after a successful login to the UBB Mobile app. It is the only way you can be sure that you enter your authentication codes and other personal data in a secure environment.
Please, DO NOT click on any buttons or links in such messages!
Still, if you have been misled and you did provide such data (for example: user names and login passwords for online banking, details of credit/ debit cards: names on the plastic, number, validity date and a CVC code), you should immediately call the UBB Contact Centre at the following telephone number: 0700 117 17 or *7171.
Should you wish to be more confident in the digital world, you can visit CyberStudy – UBB’s online security awareness platform.
