UBB is a leader in consumer trust according to a RATE | Banking Leaders survey

United Bulgarian Bank (UBB), part of the KBC Group in Bulgaria, is a leader in terms of consumer trust among customers using banking services. This is indicated by the results from an online survey, made by the economic.bg website, for the RATE | Banking Leaders project, realized by the media for a consecutive year. 3166 consumers engaged in the inquiry, by answering the question „Which bank in Bulgaria are you most satisfied with? “ Nearly 21% of them pointed out UBB, thus ranking the financial institution number one.
This survey is not a representative one, however as its authors say: „Although expressed through a media platform this opinion is in itself a litmus test in terms of how successful financial institutions translate their strategies into the language of ordinary people. And that - within the context of the preparation for joining the eurozone, which burden has to the largest extent fallen on banks, and also the accelerated digitalization - hence, the voice of customers is not just statistics, but a strategic compass. “
The results analysis brings out as a reason for UBB’s No1 position the bank’s successful integration with KBC Bank (ex-Raiffeisenbank Bulgaria), which has provided scale and predetermined its leadership position on the market. The еconomic.bg comment further, that another major reason for the high degree of loyalty is constant innovation, evolvement of the digital assistant Kate and of the mobile banking app UBB Mobile. „This high result is a recognition of the smooth integration and of the focus on customer experience during a period of high dynamics “, they also add.
UBB is a leader in terms of assets on the banking market in Bulgaria, as indicated in the data of the Bulgarian National Bank (BNB). The Bank has a wide network of branches, mortgage and business centres. At more than 170 branches throughout the country customers are being rendered professional assistance by qualified experts, who provide consultations and high-quality services to individuals and businesses. Being part of the biggest banking and insurance group in Bulgaria, UBB also offers products and services, linked to the general, life and health insurance, additional pension insurance, investments, asset management and other domains.
Along with that UBB has one of the largest ATM networks in this country with nearly 800 ATMs, situated in key locations, such as public buildings, commercial sites and in the Bank’s branches. Out of those, there are 245 ATMs with a deposit function, enabling individuals -account holders with UBB - to deposit funds in them, without the need to use banking teller desks.
UBB is also a leader in the field of banking sector innovations and digitalization. Over 2026 the Bank will continue to further enhance customer experience and provide even more digital products and services, linked to home/vehicle selection, purchase and maintenance, travelling and other non-banking services. UBB Mobile is the most widely used mobile banking app, presently having over 1 million active customers. The digital assistant Kate has over 70% autonomy, she is able to respond on more than 200 different topics, as well as to proactively offer products and services. UBB has been awarded the prestigious prizes „Best Innovative Bank“ and „Best Digital Bank for Customers in Bulgaria in 2025“ by the reputable international magazine Global Finance.
