Digital security is UBB’s special focus in celebrating the 2026 European Money Week
13 March 2026
UBB places a special emphasis on digital security and digital financial literacy among young people in its initiatives, linked to the celebration of the 2026 European Money Week.
Data indicates that apart from their active presence in social networks, adolescents and youths predominantly use digital channels and forms of payment, shopping, money transfers etc. This makes the issue of digital security and digital financial literacy even more significant, as it is part of the overall mix of risks faced by young people online.
To facilitate the resolution of this significant public and social issue, UBB has launched a long-term partnership with the newly created platform Cyber4.Kids. Project creators are experts in the information security domain, among whom Pavel Georgiev, Senior Information Security Expert at UBB. They have set as their goal to utilize some space and capacity, through which to provide comprehensive, professional and most recent information, offer simple, clear and feasible advice and practical guidance, enabling children to be safer in the digital world.
Cyber4.Kids is not a commercial undertaking, but a social project with high added value for the society. On the Cyber4.kids website schools can make a registration and state their willingness for the experts gathered around the platform to deliver some training to pupils, through which to acquaint them with the various cyber risk types and to provide them with knowledge about making their digital behaviour safer.
Additionally, the platform also offers an opportunity to all who are willing to become trainers and add their knowledge and expertise on the topic to register and become part of it. Thus, they will be building a national network of volunteers, who will ensure a much larger scope and speed of trainings delivery and will support Bulgaria’s children in having a better, more secure and safe presence online.
The European Money Week is an international initiative, which is being organized on an annual basis by the European Banking Federation and has as its goal to focus the public attention on the financial literacy topic and on the need of active measures and activities for its enhancement. UBB traditionally supports and participates in various projects linked to it, by focusing its attention on such, bringing real public benefit and entailing sustainable solutions to the topic-related problems.
Financial literacy, insurance and social security culture, career planning, building useful habits in the field of investments and prevention of digital risks comprise a significant part of the UBB strategy in the field of socially responsible behaviour. The Bank consistently invests resources in projects and partnerships, which can lead to long-lasting improvement of the public environment and to sustainable positive changes.
