United Bulgarian Bank will award the Koprivshtitsa Community Centre (chitalishte) "Hadji Nencho D.Palaveev - 1869" in the category "Solidarity and Humanity" at the third edition of AGORA contest. The official ceremony will be held on March 15, 2012 at 1700 at "Diamond" hall in "Dedeman Princess" hotel, Sofia.

During the event UBB will award the community centre and the local dance band "Koprivshtenski Bogoroditsi" for their charity campaign "Children help the child for a home without violence", aimed against domestic violence. The reason for the nomination and winning of the centre is an initiative in support of a 12-year-old child, victim of domestic violence. The initiative aims to raise awareness of the community and the children themselves about the damage caused by domestic violence and to help the injured child.

As a result of the joint efforts initiated by the community centre, the idea met the unequivocal support of a number of civic organizations in Koprivshtitsa, the municipal administration, the local museum directorate. Fundraising, charity lottery, charity concert, and social initiative group on Facebook were organized.

"Children help the child for a home without violence" is one of three initiatives, awarded in the AGORA Contest for a special contribution to local communities. The categories in which projects are outlined are "Solidarity and humanity" ("Children help a child home without violence," NC "Hadji Nencho D.Palaveev - 1869", Koprivshtitsa), "Most productive partnership" ("Multifunctional Chamber hall, "NC" Vasil Levski-1861 ", Karlovo) and "Arts and Culture Development "(North Festival of Community Centres’ Amateur Theatres "Stardust" in 2011, NC “Borba”- 1896" Knezha).
