United Bulgarian Bank with a prize for corporate partnership for healthy lifestyle

United Bulgarian Bank was awarded with a prize for corporate partnership of the Ministry of physical education and sports’ initiative “It is never too late for a fresh start". The ceremony took place on March 8 (Thursday) 2012 in the hall of the Ministry. Thus the first national campaign of the Ministry for stimulating the healthy lifestyle and sports activity of the working Bulgarians.
The certificates for corporate support were awarded personally by the Minster of physical education and sports Svilen Neykov. UBB was among the 12 partners of the initiative, in which 1.5 million Bulgarians took part in the period November 2011 – February 2012. UBB’s employees were encouraged to engage in sport activities with their families, friends and colleagues for a healthier lifestyle. Within the intercorporate football tournament UBB’s team won the first place.
„We are pleased with the project’s outcome, that enjoyed such wide public support”, Minister Neykov said and expressed his gratitude toward the project’s partners. The initiative was realized with tht financing of the “Human Resources Development” Operative Programme and the EU’s European Social Fund.
About the “It is never too late for a fresh start” project
The “It is never too late for a fresh start” initiative is part of the Ministry of physical education and sport campaign for popularizing the healthy lifestyle through mass and amateur sports activities. The project’s goal is to improve the working capability and change completion in the Bulgarian’s attitude toward sports and physical activities. The first campaign started in November 2011, following the information that 55% of the active population doesn’t practice sports, while about 70% of the citizens between 18 and 65 years believe the rise of their physical activity will improve their quality of life. At the end of the project was announced that as a result of the campaign 83% of the Bulgarians are informed about the benefits from sports and physical activity and their impact upon the health and the physical and psychological state, and 26 per cent (or about 1,3 mln) have learnt that the Ministry organizes a campaign for popularizing the mass and amateur sport.
