UBB received a special honorary plaque for its support for the Bulgarian Biathlon

Krasimir Anev will be awarded with a premium amounting to 2000 leva from UBB for the bronze medal in the individual discipline of 20 km for men

A special honorary plaque on behalf of the Bulgarian Biathlon Federation was bestowed to UBB by the federation’s president Ekaterina Dafovska. On behalf of the bank the recognition was accepted by Anka Kostova, Public Relations and Sponsorship manager at UBB. The plaque is given as a jesture of appreciation for the support that the bank has as given as the general partner of the Bulgarian Biathlon Federation, as well as for the UBB sponsorship of the Open European Biathlon Championship in Bansko.

The crystal plaque was awarded on Saturday in Bansko during the official dinner of the championship organizers, which was attended by representatives of the International Biathlon Union, the event’s sponsors and hosts from the municipality of Bansko. The first vice president of IBU Sergey Kushchenko, the technical delegate Walter Kuhling and the championship’s director Felix Bitterling received special sleeve cuffs with their initials and badges with the logo of the European Biathlon Championship.

The special guests left the gala with a bottle of "Katya Dafovska" wine - a limited edition, produced on the occasion of the 15th anniversary of the winning of the Olympic title by the Bulgarian biathlete in Nagano 1998.

UBB also bought two children's drawings from the charity exhibition "I paint the biathlon", which was opened on Thursday night at “Strazhite” hotel in Bansko. Over 300 children from “Neofit Rilski" school took part in the competition, whereas the best will be awarded by the organizing committee of the European Championship. With the money from the sales an interactive school board will be purchased.

Today the program of the Open Cup in Bansko continues with the medley, 10 km sprint for men and 10 km pursuit for women. The men's sprint will have its third start, after the dense for over Bamcko forced the cancellations of the previous two starts. On the Bulgarian side Krasimir Anev with № 16, Vladimir Iliev with № 34, Miroslav Kenanov with № 51 and  Ivan Zlatev № 62 competed.

For 15.15 is scheduled the pursuit on 10 km for women. Emilia Yordanova with № 10, Raina Koyuv with № 34 and  Dafinka Koeva with № 37 entered the race for Bulgaria.

Krasimir Anev holds the best performance on behalf of Bulgaria so far with his bronze medal in the individual start on 20 km for men. For the his high performance Anev will be additionally awarded with 2000 leva by UBB As the general sponsor of the Bulgarian Biathlon Federation UBB has previously announced that will award premiums to the Bulgarian biathletes for medals from the championship – respectively 4000 leva for gold, 3000 leva for silver and 2000 for a bronze medal.
