What is Western Union?
Western Union is an international system for express money transfers which covers over 200 counties with its more than 370,000 offices providing the service.
The main objective of the system is to process transfers of funds between physical persons. UBB is the first official representative of Western Union for Bulgaria since 1998. Money transfers are handled via Western Union to any corner of the world where it is represented, within maximum 10 minutes. On the territory of Bulgaria amounts are paid in BGN, EUR and USD.

The money transfers via Western Union are used mainly by people who want:

- To send money back home;
- To send money to their children studying abroad;

- the approximate amount of the expected sum;
- the names of the sender;
- the country from which the money has been ordered.
Show your identity card or international passport to the employee and you will receive the sent amount without charges for that.
How can you send a money transfer?
In order to send a money transfer via Western Union you need to indicate:
- the country to which you send the money;
- the amount of the ordered sum;
- the names of the recipient;
The employee will give you a ten-digit control number. You need to communicate this number to the recipient by phone or in another way selected by you. Once you have notified the recipient of the control number, he/she can receive the money at any office of Western Union in the country in which he/she is located.
The money transfer fee is borne by the sender (by you, in this particular case).
